You Daily Quote - the Bold

The future has many names – for the weak it’s unattainable, for the fearful it’s unknown, for the bold, it’s ideal.

Your Daily Quote - Responsibility and Optimism

“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.”

Nine Things Happy People Don't Care About

Happiness comes from shedding the unnecessary in life, as in you need to stop caring about certain things.
Here are 9 things happy people don’t care about.
1. AGE
Indeed, age is just a number. And happy people know this for sure.
They don’t let this ever-increasing number define who they are and what they do.  They just do whatever it is they want!
Life is short. Before you know it, age catches up. You might as well make full use of life before your body actually reflects your age.
On a more candid note, I know of friends who are happy because they date people younger than them. They actually found true love despite the age gap.
 2. CARING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK OR SAY
This is one of the biggest blocks to our happiness.
Happy people don’t care for that. They recognise that the words of others are never accurate and should never judge them for who they are and what they’re capable of.
Instead, they block it out. They don’t allow such false illusions to get in the way of what it is they want to do or how they feel. Only what they think of themselves matter.
 3. JOBS
That’s not to say happy people are unemployed. The key idea is: You’re not your job.
Sure, a job is important for stability and survival in today’s society. But other than that, your job scope and status at work should be left at the office. If you don’t, it’s going to seep into your everyday life and you’d end up feeling tired, bored or stressed out.
What matters more is your talent, passion and outlook on life. Allowing your job to take over any of that would only mean you’re allowing a label to define who you are.
 4. FEAR
Fear is not real. Happy people know that.
With that, they know that the nervousness and anxiety that supposedly comes with fear are not real. They block it out, get out of their comfort zone, feel a little crazy and just do what they want anyway.
There’s just no point holding back in life just because you feel a little scared.
 5. THE NEGATIVE STATE OF THE WORLD
There’s a lot of disturbing stuff going on out there. War, protests, riots, animals going extinct or innocent people having bad things happen to them.
Happy people don’t deny any of these, but they do a good job in making sure it doesn’t affect how they feel.
The happiest people I know simply focus on trying to make the world a better place, one small step at a time. They may not be able to create a revolution overnight, but they know that by showing a little kindness and compassion to our fellow man, the world is that much more positive already.
Don’t let the negative in life get to you. It’s not your fault others have made it this way.
 6. TOXIC PEOPLE
“You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.4
Brilliant quote.
Ever had to deal with an annoying friend or somebody who’s just really self-destructive?
Dump them. It’s time to create a positive environment for yourself.
Happy people gain happiness from the people they are with and not just from within. This is an amazing life hack that most people overlook. If you’re feeling unhappy, take a look around. Sometimes it’s the people that are just dragging you down.
 7. THE PAST OR THE FUTURE
The past does not exist, neither does the future.
If you want to be happy, you’ve got to let go of the past and move on with life. Learn from it and grow from it, then make sure you don’t repeat the same mistakes.
As for the future, happy people pretty much let go of expectations.
When you let go of the past and future, then you can truly enjoy the present.
8. EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN
Start doing things for the sake of doing things. Help others for the sake of being compassionate. The true reward is knowing that you’ve added positivity in others.
Happy people let go of always wanting something in return. That’s how they never get disappointed.
 9. COMPLAINING
Complaining is the result of an unhappy life. Sometimes things don’t go your way. You can’t escape that.
But complaining is useless. Happy people know that. They’re instead, grateful for what they have and then they try to find the solution with a positive mindset.

HOW TO ATTRACT POSITIVE ENERGY - 7 SIMPLE WAYS

JOHNNY STONES

How much negative or positive energy we attract is something that is completely in the hands of every individual. While this is an extremely empowering bit of knowledge, it is also a tremendous responsibility that requires us to be careful about all our thoughts, actions and words. The following seven methods will help you lead a life that attracts more positive energy which in turn will lead to  more good things happening in your life.

1. Clean and Organize Everything

Everything from you car to your bedroom has an impact on how you feel through-out the day. When everything is in a state of disarray it impacts the flow of our day in a negative way, whether it just visually bothers us or we have to literally spend energy searching fro something in our messy. Treat your space as if it is sacred to show that you value and appreciate having it, because chances are that many people in the world would love to  live in the luxury that you do. By introducing order and a good flow into places you spend time, it will give you a safe place for wonderful things to enter into your life.

2. See the Positive Energy that is Already Present

A common mistake is to overlook all of the wonderful things that are already present in life. Always look for the good in every situation, so that you can come into the experience with an open mind ready to receive the wondrous grace that is in every moment.

3.  Visualize a Life of Contentment and Peace

Spend the time to visualize a life where you are satisfied and happy. Only when we open up ourselves to the potential for good and positive things will they begin to come our way.

4. Do NOT Worry about the Future

Part of breaking away from negative energy is learning to stop assuming the worst will happen. Learn to anticipate positive things coming your way rather than constantly worrying about imaginary scenarios. Focus your attention on all the great things that are coming your way.

5. Love Yourself- Mistakes and All

Many people hold resentment towards themselves for making mistakes in the past. No one can take the clock back to undo mistakes. Just know that every bad experience is a chance to learn, and the only place you can work on improving things is in the present.

6. Follow the Three Folds Law

The three fold law states that everything you put out in the world will come back to you three-folds. Know deep within that all of the positive energy you put out into the world will eventually come back to you. Whenever making a decision, assess what the consequences in the future may be.

7. Do NOT Speak Negatively

Words are powerful tools that can take life in many different directions. Everything you say can have huge consequences. Learn to think more before you speak. When you are thinking about what you are saying determine whether it is negative or positive. If it is the latter avoid keep your lips sealed and dismiss the thought as something to negative to welcome in your life.

Seven Ways to Inspire Love in Your Life - Part 2 of 4

by Traci Porterfield

2. Embrace Forgiveness and Appreciate Your Past
Mother Teresa once said, “If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive.” If someone has hurt you, betrayed you, or broken your heart, find a way to begin the forgiveness process, for this person has helped you learn about trust and the importance of being more discerning about the people you open your heart to. The physical benefits of forgiveness are undeniable. As researchers have found, while holding onto resentment contributes to increased heart disease and weakened immunity, letting go of old grudges reduces stress, anxiety, and depression. People who forgive tend to have better relationships, feel happier and more optimistic, and enjoy greater psychological wellbeing.
It is easy to be negative about past mistakes, unhappiness, and those we feel have wronged us. However, it is much more healing to look at ourselves and our past in the light of experience, acceptance, and growth. Some of us have emerged from the most painful circumstances with strong insights about who we are and what we want. If we look deeply, we will see that our mistakes have been absolutely necessary. Our frustrations, failures, and stumbling attempts to grow have been necessary, too. Each step of the way, we learned. We went through exactly the experiences we needed to become who we are today. Our past is not a mistake. The only mistake we can make is not learning from our mistakes. You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one. If what you are doing or the way you are being right now no longer serves you, you can wipe the slate clean and start again. It’s never too late.

Take action
As a big fan of the healing power of mantras, I often recommend using the simple mantra I thank you. I bless you. I release you. You can repeat this mantra silently to yourself, bringing into your mind an image of the person you are seeking to forgive.

3. Focus on Doing Things That Make You Feel Good
What activities fill you with happiness and pleasure? Do you like to walk your dog, go to the gym, watch football, practice yoga, or go for a hike and be in awe of Mother Nature? Keep it simple: do what you love! If you meet a new friend or romantic partner when you’re enjoying your favorite things, it’s an added benefit.

Take action
Make a list of things you love to do and activities you’ve done in the past that made you happy. This week, choose one activity from your list and schedule time to do it. Even better, do one of these activities every day. If you are in a relationship, you can also make a list of the activities that you and your partner enjoy doing together and choose one to do this week.

4. Spend Time with People who Inspire and Support You
We are all influenced by the people we spend the most time with, including our family, friends, and co-workers. If they tend to be optimistic, loving, and supportive, we will benefit from their energy. On the other hand, if we spend a lot of time with people who are negative, critical, or draining, it will be much more difficult to remain balanced and happy. These are words from the introduction to a Chopra Center meditation:
“You are known by the company you keep. We inherit the beliefs of those we spend the most time with. These philosophies become part of our subconscious mind. Research shows we function largely with subconscious minds that have been programed by others, yet we have the amazing ability to change past conditioning, by releasing negativity, interacting with like-minded conscious people, enjoying inspirational sights and sounds, and engaging in uplifting activities. . . . What we place our attention on expands in our lives. Harnessing this power of attention and intention, you can change your life to reflect exactly what you envision.”
I encourage you to surround yourself with those who believe in your potential. Ask yourself: Will spending time with this person drag me down or lift me up?  Will he or she make me want to be a better person? A happier person? A more successful person? Will he or she make me achieve my most important goals? Anyone who inspires you to make your half-hearted attempts more whole-hearted through passion and love is an adored friend and teacher to be cherished.

Take action

This week, make an inventory of the people you surround yourself with and the experiences you are engaging in. Which relationships and activities are nourishing you and which are draining you? Are there any changes you need to make? Are there any conversations you need to have? Choose one small step that will help you fill your life with more loving relationships and experiences and schedule a time to do it within the next two days.

Quote of the Day - Material and Spiritual Heaven

"... hell is a powerless and distracted state involving fear and guilt about the future and past, while heaven is the resting state of gratitude balanced in the present."
